Personal Statement

I believe that communications has the ability to showcase authenticity, creativity, and personality. Hard work and dedication are keys to success in this field but also in everyday life. Specifically, I believe that sports marketing/communications can combine passion with storytelling and making connections. I hope to pursue a career in one of these fields. My long- term goal is to work in the professional sports industry, such as the NFL or MLB.

My name is Carlina Hershock and I am from Bucks County, PA. I am a senior communications major with a marketing minor at Saint Joseph's University (SJU).At SJU, I am a fourth year member on the cheerleading team and this is my second year as one of the captains of the team. Some of my other leadership roles here at SJU include serving as a Cardinal Foley Fellow for the Beautiful Social Reserach Collabortive, a member of the Tri Alpha Honors Society, and a member of the Student Engagement Board for the College of Arts and Sciences.
